Keep The Tradition Alive
The Old Santa Ynez Days Rodeo is more than a weekend of competition—it’s a community tradition that raises funds to support local youth programs, agricultural education, and charitable organizations throughout the Santa Ynez Valley.
Presented by the Santa Ynez Valley Western Heritage Foundation, the rodeo helps fund initiatives that preserve the Valley’s ranching heritage while providing opportunities for young people through programs like high school rodeo, agricultural education, and community charities serving local families.
Now in its 7th year as a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) qualifying rodeo, the event brings the community together each summer to celebrate Western culture while giving back to the organizations that help keep these traditions alive.

A weekend the whole valley shows up for.
Rooted in the Valley
The Old Santa Ynez Days Rodeo is a community tradition that helps support the people and heritage of the Santa Ynez Valley. Hosted by the Santa Ynez Valley Western Heritage Foundation, the rodeo serves as the organization’s primary fundraising event, with proceeds benefiting local youth programs, agricultural education, and community charities.
Through ticket sales, sponsorships, and donations, the rodeo helps fund organizations that support young people in the Valley—from high school rodeo and agricultural programs to local initiatives serving families and children in need.
By bringing the community together each year, the rodeo helps preserve the Western traditions and ranching heritage that define the Santa Ynez Valley.
Backed by the Valley
Local businesses and community partners help keep this tradition alive.
